South Tapanuli, June 15, 2024 – PLN Nusantara Renewables (PLN NR) and PT North Sumatera Hydro Energy (PT NSHE), the developer of the Batang Toru Hydropower Plant, distributed six sacrificial cows for the celebration of Eid al-Adha 1445 H in Marancar District, South Tapanuli. The symbolic handover of the sacrificial animals took place at the Marancar District Office, attended by representatives of the South Tapanuli Regency Government.

The distribution of sacrificial animals to the communities around the Batang Toru Hydropower Plant project is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of PLN NR and NSHE. When properly distributed, it is hoped that the beef will bring happiness to the underprivileged communities around the project site.

Arie Dedy Puspita, the Social Communication Manager of PT NSHE, mentioned that the distribution of sacrificial cows is a routine activity carried out by the company since 2018. He stated, “This year, we are donating six Brahman cows, which will be distributed to six villages across five districts in South Tapanuli.” He added that of the six cows, five were contributed by PT NSHE, and one was donated by PLN Nusantara Renewables.

Harjono, the President Director of PLN Nusantara Renewables, expressed the company's gratitude for the support from the Marancar District community for the Batang Toru Hydropower Plant project. “The Marancar District community motivates us to dedicate our time and efforts to making positive contributions to the surrounding communities,” said Harjono.

Furthermore, Harjono hopes that this activity will foster closer synergy between PT PLN NR, PT NSHE, and the community to create positive impacts and address the challenges arising from development progress.
